This is the third time I will be posting this and I hope that you don’t really have a problem with it, because this will make up for STFU-Feminists lack of posts.
This is an open challenge from cliffordcorrupt and his friend convertedinvader, and I’m gonna go ahead and say that me and Z are on…
What exactly are the main premises that will be argued? I feel like that is relevant?
The main premises are that of the things that seemed to be argued absolutely daily between those feminists and social justice activists, and those on the other side of the fence.
Think of it more of a proving ground for both sides. Not a screaming match, but a debate. A flat ground to throw back and forth ideas and debate. A live chat would be better than an “organized” one.
So, in essence, it’s not a real debate. It’s a discussion much like the ones we have on Tumblr, but in live time. Why is a live chat better than having an organized one? I’ve never found a lack of structure good for people who feel passionately about specific subjects, to be perfectly honest.
Well let me break it down the way I see it.
-For starters, it is a debate. A meeting where two groups bring forth opposing arguments and push them.
-A live time debate brings all the varying opinions together at one period of time, so that we’re not waiting hours for a reply.
-Not to mention STFU-Feminists has had a lack of posts, due to personal inactivity on the part of Z and myself.
-At the very least it’ll be a time for small talking periods.
An open challenge to all social justice debaters
This is the third time I will be posting this and I hope that you don’t really have a problem with it, because this will make up for STFU-Feminists lack of posts.
This is an open challenge from cliffordcorrupt and his friend convertedinvader, and I’m gonna go ahead and say that me and Z are on board as well. We are issuing a challenge to all feminists and social justice people to have a friendly debate in live time. This will be live, in front of an audience of our peers. We invite you, your friends, your colleagues, and our friends, our colleagues, and ourselves to sit down and debate.
I also want to extend this invitation with extra importance to any “major” social justice bloggers. The list is definitely expansive. But people such as jaded16india, or nimself, and others. This is not “trolling”. You can bring all of your friends to talk as well. We aren’t saying just one or two. They will be muting everyone except the debaters.
So where will this be held?
Here’s a guide:
http://02.chat.mibbit.com/
Start here. Mibbit is an IRC connector.
When you get there, you will see “connect: Mibbit [webirc]”. Click “server”
When that opens up, type ” irc.anonnet.org “<—-exactly like that without the quotes.
Do not add a default port unless you cannot connect. If you cannot connect, follow what it says and add “:+6697” [probably not required]
In the “Nick” type your tumblr name. You can also do that with the /nick command if you want to change it later.
In the channel, type #debating or #debatediscussion . These are the two channels. You will see channels. You will see information in these channels.
When will this be held? - Saturday, June 25 at midnight GMT.
What time will this be for you? Midnight GMT, 6PM Eastern, 3PM Pacific. Calculate as needed. For Australians, it is between 6AM, to 11AM on Sunday.
How do you sign up? By reblogging this, telling everyone you know.
Repost this for everyone to see. Make a new post and just copy paste it all in there. Tag it with everything. Feminist, Feminism, what have you. I want everyone to see it and everyone to participate.
Anonymous asked: when you say "saturday 25, midnight gmt" do you mean midnight as in 00:00am, exactly when it turns saturday 25th (basically, "tonight")? or do you mean tomorrow, at midnight, right when it will turn sunday 26th? sorry if this is silly or confusing, i just want to be clear so i don't miss the chat.
Midnight when it is Sunday the 26th, sorry for the confusion.

indeii-weizeritpaprika-lemonz asked: you don't happen to have a FAQ page do you....like a little summary-intro to the sort of stance you have and an explanation of it.....?
Our stance is pretty much the entirety of this blog’s dedication.
If you really want to see where we stand, just start at page 1.

Women “buy into it”. Why are you implying that all women are mindless sheep? Women do not think they are gorgeous, they are told they are gorgeous, and have to live up to an impossible standard of beauty. Again, you aren’t “a fan of fat girls” because of the modern media. There was a time when men were absolutely in awe over Marilyn Monroe, and she was not the starved women you see in your Playboy mags today.
Implying women can’t “keep up with the times” in our internet age. I am just as technologically capable as you. Women-hater.
Accept all women for who they are. Is that so hard?

Incorrect, the models are put up there, and people make the conscious decision to say “I want to look like that”.
Again, you aren’t “a fan of fat girls” because of the modern media. There was a time when men were absolutely in awe over Marilyn Monroe, and she was not the starved women you see in your Playboy mags today.
The modern media has nothing to do with it. Back in the much more primitive times, big women were a sign of a healthy household. But that was because the woman stayed at home and did the housework and whatnot. When the woman was moved into the working class, thinner body structure was accepted because thinner women were more capable. It’s a fact that the healthier you are (an “average” weight), the more capable you are. Fat people are neither healthy, nor as capable as their thinner counterparts.
Implying women can’t “keep up with the times” in our internet age. I am just as technologically capable as you. Women-hater.
Well there’s a strawman. He said to keep with the times because there’s such a thing as online pornography. He was saying YOU need to get with the times. Why don’t YOU take some responsibility in this argument and defend YOUR position, instead of force-representation of women.
Accept all women for who they are. Is that so hard?
That’s not going to happen. It’s evident in the fact that you cannot erradicate thought, and therefore you’re never going to see full acceptance. There is definitely some leeway for bigger woman, I’m sure, but it’s better if you’re HEALTHY, and NOT at risk for diseases that bigger women can acquire.

Just a heads up
Both myslf and Z have had personal things going on lately, and so we haven’t been able to make many posts. I will try to post as much as I can, but there’s no guarantees.
Thanks for sticking with us,

Anonymous asked: For C-
You're just inviting people to laugh at you now; Why on earth would make you say that women are a minority. They are not, don't be an idiot.
Women are not only not a minority, they're actually the majority. The human population is actually 51% female.
Educate yourself, or proof-read, because you just ridiculous.
A minority in government. There have been no U.S. presidents or vice presidents. I said ‘minority’ in context to what it was, and that was presidential elections.

Anonymous asked: Why do you think there has never been a woman president of the United States? (Obviously this is not the one defining issue of feminism, or even necessarily one of the most important issues. I'd just like to know why you think this is.)
Well there was a female candidate. Obama won because of the color of his skin [controversial opinion, I’m sure, but it was one of two minorities [edit: women in minority of government] running for the Democrat position], and because the U.S’ opinion of Republicans because of Bush was overwhelmingly bad. Both Clinton and Obama had a nice run for their money. The first female president, or the first black president. In the end, it would have been a sweep. And if McCain had won, we would have had a female vice president.
There will probably be a female candidate that will sweep in soon enough. Most likely not on the Republican side. Why I feel there hasn’t been? Well it’s not that there’s not enough women to run. In terms of the Republican party, there are plenty of candidates. I just think they haven’t stepped up to the plate.

Anonymous asked: Don't you find it disingenuous to pride yourselves on "common sense and rational thought" (etc., etc.) when this blog is ostensibly designed as the systematic defense of one particular position? I don't guess it would be better to set yourselves up as, say, "The Objective Deciders of Issues of Feminists and Feminism," since that would assume more authority than one really needs to run a blog; what I mean to say is that you're a partisan, and there shouldn't be anything wrong with that--I'm a partisan too. Since I'm a feminist partisan, I know that my initial views will be slanted towards traditional feminist arguments (because, hey, I believe in traditional feminist arguments); likewise, you who run this blog are antifeminists, and your views will be slanted in the same way. For this reason, I find it deceptive for you to paint the portrait of yourselves as working only towards reason. Would it be unfair to say that when presented with an issue, you know what your opinion is on the matter even before any real critical thought?
I know Z might have something to say about this, but look at our discussions vs thefloatingopera. We’re not the “deciders”. We’re anti feminist, but we’re open to hearing the arguments about the issues and debating. The way you say it, anyone who has an opinion about moral issues [or anything for that matter] is wrong and can’t use common sense and rational thought, or you say that people such as feminists are always right. Just because we’re “Anti-x”, in this case feminists, doesn’t mean we can’t be rational about it. Your question at the end again, is rhetorical. Everyone has an opinion on an issue before they discuss it. Debate enhances that critical thinking process. Hearing other sides enhances that critical thinking process.
